Follow-up of women in rural areas have become obvious through the realization of sustainable development programmes carried out by Mohammed Foundation for Solidarity spanning different regions of the Kingdom and investing, by the end of 2006, about 525 million MAD in 80 different projects.
Such programme intends to provide deprived people, particularly in rural areas, with diverse social services (water, electricity, roads, dispensary hospitals, medical caravans, etc), income generating projects (creating cattle breeding cooperatives and agricultural production), basic training (literacy, training on locally practiced professions, etc), and small loans to create one’s own project.
The most important part of such project is saved for women in rural areas, who benefit from sustainable follow-up, allowing them to benefit from basic training, awareness of women-related topics, and means to carry out an income generating activity which can eventually give them economic independent and help them play a better role in the Kingdom’s sustainable development.
