Background
His Majesty King Mohammed VI has always keenly cared about people in need. He soon expressed such interest through a wide range of initiatives. These include the creation in 1998 of an Ethic Committee, as a prelude to establishing a more formal and organized structure on a perennial basis.
Building on this experience, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, then Crown Prince, decided to set up an institution dedicated to the needy.
A Foundation was born…
«We are equally paying attention to problems of poverty encountered by some of Our People. We will work, with God’s help, to lighten its impact.
In this context, my father, peace be upon his soul, have honored me by accepting to my proposal to create an institution which he named «Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity» to support the poor, the needy, and the people with special needs.
We have committed ourselves to activate the role of this institution and give it our very care and support.»
