
Inaugurated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God Assist Him, on Ramadan 2, 1429 A. H., corresponding to September 3, 2008, the Social Center for Old People in Rabat represents the first materialization of reflections and studies carried out within the Association Forum for Solidarity, weaving a network of associations gathering thirty associations partner with Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity.
Entirely realized by Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity at a cost exceeding 7 million MAD, 440.000 MAD of which set out for equipments, the center intends to:
The center is accordingly open to homeless old people of 60 years old and more, living in difficult situation in the Rabat Salé Zemmour Zaer Region.
Such center provides several services in three forms:
The center covers a global surface of 4000 m2, 2000 m2 of which is built. Totally designed in the ground floor, taking into account mobility constraints for old people, the center is made up of one directorate, 6 dormitories, 40 permanent residents, 8 periodic residents, one ambulatory service, one medical service, one pharmacy, one warehouse, one canteen and one prayer room.
The center further has a 350.000 MAD ambulance, donated by the Foundation of La Caisse de Dépôt et Gestion to serve their ambulatory services.
The center management is carried out by the Management Association made up of representatives of 3 members in the Association Forum for solidarity (Ribat Al Fath association, Friend Without Borders Association, Al Hayat Sphere for Social Integration), the Wilaya of Rabat Salé Zemmour Zaier, the Regional Council, the City Council, the National Mutual Aid organization, and the Ministry of Health.
