Al Haouz Programme

In Al Haouz province, Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity has realized an important literacy and training programme for women in rural areas; such programme is based upon the social structures created by the Foundation in the frame of the integrated development plan carried out for the region, including diverse project to provide access to basic services and income generating activities.
The aforementioned structures include women training centers across eight rural communes and douars (Ain Jdid, Agadir-Tassaoute, Tnin Ourika, Tamazourte, Touama, Issers, Tafga and Ighi).
Women who benefit from such programme receive training on diverse activities germane to couture and embroidery, as well as occasional literacy classes.
In 2008, the Foundation has launched a new literacy programme for all women who have benefited from the aforementioned services spanning members of cooperative created by the Foundation together with beneficiaries from actions carried out by associations across the region.
To better carry out such programme, which costs about 5 million MAD and whose execution needs a couple of years, Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity has joined Grand Atlas Association, one of the most important partners in the region, to run such huge programme to cover, at a first phase, 5000 women.
